Exploring Mathematics

Dear Mathematics Educator,

I am pleased to extend to you an invitation to participate in the Education Days at Kennywood. Your students will never look at Kennywood the same way again as they complete activities designed to challenge them to "think outside the box" and apply concepts from all facets of high school mathematics. From Algebra I to Calculus, students of all levels will benefit from this unique learning experience.

Each activity begins with fundamental questions that progress to provide students with stimulating problem solving challenges. Everything that the students need to succeed is included in the packet.

With twenty-five activities to choose from, I am sure that you will find activities that are suitable to enhance your students' learning. In order to help decide which of these activities are appropriate for your class, I encourage you to peruse the activities and view the Mathematics Topic Alignment on page 65 of the teacher's version. Due to time constraints at the park, you may want to focus the students on completing a predetermined number of activities. Calculators are required for three of the activities and are highly recommended for the others.
