Jack Rabbit: Kennywood’s oldest rollercoaster
Join generations of fun-seekers and experience one of Kennywood’s most recognized rides. Designed and built by John Miller on a natural ravine, he cleverly used the landscape of the Monongahela Valley to his advantage. A classic wooden rollercoaster, Jack Rabbit, is known for its 70-foot double-dip drop, a very rare and unique feature. But above all, it’s recognized for its legacy. Riding the Rabbit is a rite of passage in Pittsburgh and an experience you will treasure forever.
Celebrating over 100 years of thrills, the Jack Rabbit has been a Kennywood favorite for young and old since 1920. The ride was a modern marvel of engineering when it opened, being one of the first rollercoasters to feature under-friction wheels. To commemorate this remarkable anniversary, we introduced a new logo featuring the iconic critter jumping through the number 100. One of the oldest continuously operating rides in the world, it perfectly represents Kennywood and what it stands for. A careful balance of old and new, preserving tradition while constantly evolving. Just like the ride, Kennywood is a national treasure, Pittsburgh's Thrill and Entertainment Destination.
Take a break and enjoy watching young and old hop on this historic ride. Generations of thrill-seekers have enjoyed the one-of-a-kind experience it provides together. While you are taking a leap into the past and exploring the Park’s historic attractions, stop by the spooky Old Mill, but watch out for the cowboys and cobwebs.
Riders must be at least 42” tall to ride. Riders between 42” and 48” must ride with a supervising companion.
