Spinvasion lands in Top 10 Best New Theme Park Attractions in USA Today Poll

Out-of-this-world news! Spinvasion, the first ride of its kind in the nation, was voted among the country's top 10 Best New Theme Park Attractions of 2023 in the USA Today's 10Best Reader's Choice Awards. And it goes without saying: THANK YOU for all of your votes!

Of course, Spinvasion was our new-for-2023 ride in the heart Area 412. Very much a spiritual successor to the old Swing Around, Spinvasion offers a perfect in-between ride that appeals to a wide range of riders. Faster than a family-centric ride like the Kangaroo but not quite as extreme as a thriller like Black Widow, Spinvasion reaffirms Kennywood's commitment to offering something for everyone. Spinvasion therefore checks many boxes: unique, wide appeal and just plain FUN!

This recognition is the latest in a string of national accolades Kennywood has received over the past year. Other recent honors include Holiday Lights placing among the Best Theme Park Holiday Events in another 10Best poll, as well as the Renaissance Award at the annual Golden Ticket Awards, a prestigious honor within the amusement industry in recognition of all of the park's recent substantial improvements.

“It is an honor to receive national recognition, from industry experts and guests alike, for our massive park enhancements,” says Rick Spicuzza, Assistant General Manager. “Our goal for 2024 is to continue to elevate and innovate the park experience, while always keeping tradition top of mind.”

Kennywood is geared up for another banner year in 2024. Our bumper car ride will undergo a total transformation, themed to Kennywood’s iconic fresh-cut Potato Patch® fries. This mouth-watering makeover showcases two beloved Kennywood staples, the bumper cars and Potato Patch, coming together as they both prepare to celebrate 51 years of Kennywood memories. Improvements include 20 all-new cars modeled after the park’s signature snack, as well as significant cosmetic and infrastructure upgrades to the bumper car building. This latest renovation is yet another part of our efforts to improve the park as we move to the future while respecting our historic past.
